Laboratories
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has laboratories with diverse teaching and research fields. They provide students with practical expertise (e. g. through experiments and internships), are involved in various study projects (the development project, for example) and offer tutorials that allow students to participate in teaching themselves.
Thereby the circle of students is not limited to mechanical engineering degree programmes. For example, many laboratory experiments are also available to students of other faculties (Business and Engineering, Natural Sciences and Humanities,...) and degree programmes (Bachelor Mechatronics - in German and English, Bachelor Business and Engineering - in German and English,...).
The laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering maintain good relationships with other faculties and their laboratories, university projects, regional and/or medium-sized companies, large-scale industrial companies (ZF, Schaeffler, Bosch Rexroth, Siemens,...) and various teaching and research facilities (East-bavarian Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden, Technical University of Chemnitz, Fraunhofer institutes,...). Among other things, this makes it possible to offer interesting and also demanding theses and research projects from a wide range of topics.
The laboratories are equipped with devices, machines and software that are also used in industry in order to ensure that teaching and research is as practical as possible.
More information about their research activities, equipment, internships offered, theses and jobs can be found on the laboratories' webpages.
Please note that not all pages with information about the laboratories are available in English yet. For the time being, please refer to the German laboratory pages.
