Exchange studies and doing internships abroad

Having experience abroad is becoming increasingly important. Many companies operate globally, and even local companies have to cooperate with customers or suppliers based abroad. Intercultural experience and foreign language skills are important for future managers and for administrative staff alike. Apart from this professional aspect, a stay abroad is also exciting and usually associated with a lot of fun and many new impressions. The freedom that students enjoy abroad will no longer be available to them later in their careers.

There are many ways to go abroad: You can complete an internship abroad during your studies, take part in summer or winter schools, study for one or two semesters at a foreign university or write your Bachelor's thesis abroad. If you study abroad, you should endeavour to transfer the credits you have earned to your studies at the THWS. The core elective/specialization modules (FWPM) and the general elective modules (AWPM) are particularly suitable for this, because in these cases the modules taken at a foreign university do not have to correspond to the lectures from the THWS degree programmes. The projects planned in the degree programme can also be completed at a foreign university.

The most important thing first of all is that you take care of this in good time to ensure that you are able to study abroad.
