Thesis in the field of Industrial Metaverse & Digital Twins
Wikipedia and Intranet Wikis were yesterday. The future is the Industrial Metaverse and the Digital Twin.
In your work, you will virtualize our real existing laboratory "Cyper Physical Systems" by 3D scan and equip the digital twin with functionality that creates added value for the work in the laboratory. The results achieved in your work can be transferred 1:1 to the industrial environment in the factory.
- Literature research on industrial metaverse, digital twins, CAx process chain, web services and game engine application
- 3D scan of the "Cyper Physical Systems" laboratory- Implementation of the: Industrial Metaverse and Digital Twin with the help of a powerful software solution available on the market
- Development and implementation of a prototypical test environment using the test benches and laboratory setups available in the laboratory (3D printing, 3D scanning workstations)Bachelor thesis - Commissioning of a smart robot gripper
Smart robot grippers can grip workpieces in a controlled manner, with precisely defined holding forces and path monitoring. The functions integrated in the grippers have the potential to significantly expand the industrial application spectrum of workpiece grippers. A possible example is the use of the integrated sensors for the handling time parallel measurement of workpiece properties for quality assurance.
In this thesis, an existing industrial high-performance gripper with integrated AI computer vision sensor technology is to be put into operation.

Bachelor Thesis - Smart IO-Link Sensor and Edge Computing
Smart IO-Link sensor and edge computing - Exploiting the integrated functionality of a sensor for decentralized sensor signal processing and feature extraction.
A single smart IO-Link sensor provides several different measured values (e.g., object detection, temperature, tilt, vibration,....). These measured values can be pre-processed directly in the sensor, features can be extracted and also evaluated, e.g., with a decision logic regarding the violation of limit values. In this work, the various possibilities offered by a single sensor of this type are to be investigated and the setting options tested and documented using simple, illustrative experimental setups.

The topic belongs to the superordinate subject area: Automated manufacturing - Industrial networking of smart sensors and actuators using IO-Link standard in industry 4.0
The networking of sensors and actuators at the fieldbus level is of particular importance for the creation of automated processes in production. IO-Link is a new standard that greatly simplifies networking and will become increasingly widespread in plants and machines over the next few years.
Extensive hardware on this topic is available in the Cyber Physical Systems Laboratory for this bachelor thesis. Are you interested in acquiring important know-how in the field of automation in a practical way?
