Laboratory for Quality Management and Production Metrology

Location

This map shows the layout of the Laboratory for Quality Management and Production Metrology. It is located in the basement of Building 4. The open staircase for the basement can be reached via the corridor between the main and south entrances and is located approximately halfway between the two entrances on the left and right respectively. If you are not so good on foot, you can use the lift in the corridor opposite the stairwell. The lift is on the right after the fourth steel door. Access to the laboratory is via the first or second door on the left in the corridor, which is slightly offset to the left of the stairwell.

The laboratory

The laboratory is used to develop and implement modern methods of quality management and production metrology in teaching, research and industry-related applications. Most of the applications relate to the field of rolling bearing technology.

To this end, the laboratory is equipped with highly sensitive measuring devices of the kind used in industrial production processes. Students can gain initial experience in the quality-compliant application of force-displacement-monitored assembly processes, torque/rotation angle-controlled screwdriving processes or the use of robots in quality engineering. Modern workstations for image processing and statistical quality assurance are also available.
